Overview

Warong 501 is a modest seafood restaurant nestled in the bustling area of Pandan Jaya, Kuala Lumpur. Located at 28, Jalan Pandan 3/6a, this spot is known for its vibrant local flavors and hearty dishes, with the Bihun Goreng standing out as a crowd favorite. The restaurant serves a range of Malaysian-style seafood and meat dishes, combining bold spices that reflect the region's culinary heritage.

The ambience at Warong 501 can be lively and a bit cramped, especially during peak hours such as Friday evenings. This adds to the authentic street-food vibe but might not suit diners seeking a quiet meal. The space is functional, focusing more on the food than elaborate decor, making it ideal for casual dining with family or friends who appreciate aroma-rich, spicy dishes.

Menu highlights include not only the signature fried rice vermicelli but also other local staples like beef soup, ayam goreng kunyit, and black pepper beef. Customers should be aware that the spice levels can be quite intense. As Nur Afifah noted, the spiciness might overwhelm those less accustomed to heat, especially children. It’s advisable to inform the staff if you prefer milder flavors, as the kitchen can adjust dishes to suit taste preferences.

Warong 501 caters mainly to seafood and spice lovers who enjoy authentic, full-bodied Malaysian cuisine. Its central location in Kuala Lumpur makes it accessible to locals and visitors looking for a genuine taste of the city’s food scene. While the restaurant may not offer luxury dining, its hearty portions and rich flavors offer great value for anyone craving robust, traditional fare.

The food was good. But the place is a bit crowded. We were here on Friday night to have our dinner and there were a lot of people but we managed to get a table. We ordered beef soup, ayam goreng kunyit, black pepper beef and white rice. The food mostly spicy, if you are not a spicy person, better notify the waiter my son couldn't eat the soup because it was too spicy for him, he couldn't finish his rice that soaked with soup. Overall ok la.
